Urgent action needed to address ongoing inequity in maternity sector

This 14th report focuses on the epidemiology of perinatal mortality from 2007 to 2018, babies with neonatal encephalopathy from 2010 to 2018,  maternal mortality from 2006 to 2018, and perinatal and maternal mortality and morbidity for the 2018 calendar year.

Babies of Māori, Pacific and Indian mothers are still more likely than babies of New Zealand European mothers to die in pregnancy or within the first 28 days, the Perinatal and Maternal Mortality Review Committee 14th report shows.
