NZBA Chairperson - Jenny HumphriesJenny Humphries has been co-opted onto the NZBA Board as the NZBA Chairperson. Jenny is Associate Director of Nursing and Midwifery as Southland District Health Board. Jenny is a Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Assessor and a Midwife who maintains a small caseload as a Lead Maternity Carer.
NZBA Board Member - Trinie MooreTrinie Moore is the representative on the board from the Plunket Society (a well child organisation that provides free education, information and support to New Zealand families). She is a registered nurse with a Plunket Certificate and a Master of Public Health. Trinie has been working for Plunket since 1990 in a number of roles and is currently working as a Clinical Advisor.
NZBA Board Member - Angeline TangioraAngeline Tangiora is the Research and Development Project Manager for the Maori SIDS team. In her role, Angeline is responsible for the development of the centres infrastructure and promotion of the centre by ensuring existing and prospective information on relevant research are identifed and to oversee and grow research undertaken by Maori SIDS. Angeline brings to the NZBA Board a clincial focus with an extensive knowledge of issues relating to Maori health and Maori protocols, wide community and Maori Health provider networks and management skills.
NZBA Board Member - Celia ButlerCelia Butler lives in Motueka and has worked in the Nelson region for a number of years; as Midwifery Manager of Nelson Hospital and as a Midwife. Celia has had extensive experience working with the BFHI as she assisted the Motueka Maternity facility in gaining their BFHI accreditations status.
NZBA Board Member - Janine PinkhamJanine Pinkham is a La Leche League Leader and a member of the LLLNZ board since 2003. Janine’s roles on other boards have equipped her well for a range of governance responsibilities and she has gained a good understanding of financial governance requirements. Roles have included the chair of a school board of trustees for three years and a member of the board of La Leche League New Zealand for six years.
NZBA Board Member - Hassanah RuddHassanah is a current member of the National Board of Parents Centre NZ Inc. She is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Maternity Services Consumer Council. She has been the Community representative for many years at the Maternity Forum of Waitakere Hospital and the BFHI steering group for Waitemata DHB.
NZBA Board Member - Norma CampbellThe New Zealand College of Midwives is the professional organisation for midwives. Norma’s primary role as Midwifery Advisor is to provide advice and support for the NZCOM and its members of various aspects of midwifery practice. Norma also oversees the quality assurance and professional development process for the midwifery profession, and holds the Complaints Resolution portfolio for NZCOM.
NZBA Board Member - Bernard HutchinsonBernard is the Associate Clinical Nurse Manager of the NICU at Christchurch Womens Hospital. From both a professional and personnel perspective Bernard has witnessed the benefits of breastmilk whilst understanding the challenges facing breastfeeding women and their whanau. Bernard’s role as a Lead Assessor has introduced him to NZBA’s aims and objectives. This has fueled his interest and desire to learn more and contribute to the shared vision for breastfeeding to become the cultural norm.
